Latest project - Survivor's Stories update and invite!

Hi everyone,

Unknown in the UK!!!! As far as I know nothing like this has ever been achieved for something so web 2.0, interactive and connected across the globe, for such a cause. Linking just about everything: people, groups, music, social and media networking, education, govt departments, web 2.0 entrpreneurs, radio, TV, film and last but by no means least, the very people this DVD and website are there to support!

I have been busy as ever doing all sorts of stuff for the survivor's stories DVD and website.

I have been consultant to the project for the Babergh Domestic Violence and Abuse Forum and will also be Launching their website on 26th November which marks the start of 'white ribbon campaign' 16 days of activity nationally and internationally to end violence towards women / gender based violence.

I had an idea (and yes there's trouble when I start having those) that we could not only have a number of invited guests attending the Babergh District Council offices to see the Launch of the Survivors Stories DVD and website, but that we could do a virtual and interactive web 2.0 launch as well.

It would link up with people nationally and internationally, community groups, women's centres, education depts, colleges, individuals, private sector and public sector departments. Some of those groups will also be campaigning to raise awareness, during the 16 days and it is a global campaign!

My idea has global connections now too now getting some great momentum, including the following:

International Museum of Women and the Imagining Ourselves Virtual Exhibition
East of England Regional Assembly ( EERA )- virtual attendance on the day
Possible support and networks from Suffolk Investors
Possible editorial from Federation of Small Businesses
possible attendance from Minister of State for Lifelong Learning, Further and Higher Education - Dept for Innovation Universities and Skills
Possible attendance from Minister of State for Children, Young People and Families, Facebook and Myspace virtual attendance

Music written / dedicated towards the Launch and Survivors Stories. from UK and International bands. United States.

the following link is where the survivor's stories website will be launched from

( it has a simple template holding page currently )

There is heaps more to be done and supported and i wonder if anyone else here would like to support the web 2.0 features / general campaigning to support. Pass this link to others that would be interested in supporting and anything else that they think will be of use.

Alex thank you so much for your offer to make a mention of the Survivor's stories, really fab. If anyone is interested in getting involved with me, please just email me at

survivorsstories@person-centred-consultancies.com

There will be a paypal 'donate now' button for the survivor's stories and this will be embedded on my page here at small bizpodnetwork and my own network Person Centred Business Network in the next week of so.

If you can't virtually attend on the day ( 20 minutes approx ) you can send your thoughts and warm wishes to support the Survivors stories and Babergh Domestic Violence and abuse Forum by email. These words of support will be uploaded to the website ( unless indicated otherwise ) having a scrolling virtual guest book streamed live too!

I will be attending MediaCampBucks also in October and hope to get more interest.

Can this be done? does anyone else wish to support this too?

thanks to all those here at Ning that have already.. and those that wish to simply share words of support. ( they can also be added to the website! )

Tish x

would love to help you promote this. my time is limited, but I think you are on the right track with Ning. As I grow my own ning site and promote www.WorldVisionEntrepreneur.org I will share with you the plan that is working for me and you can duplicate all or part of it. I also have someone who would make a great story for you. She was left for dead at the side of the road after having all her teeth smashed in by her X. She weighed 60 pounds. Several years later she become a world class body builder and ranked as high as #7 in the "Arnold Classics" (a major event). please contact me using the form at my site www.Linkedin-Entrepreneurs.com ~Victory

Hi Tish, I really admire the enthusiasm and energy you're bringing to such an important cause. Leveraging all these web 2.0 tools is a brilliant idea and I hope it inspires other causes to follow your lead too. It just makes such a lot of sense.

Hi Alex,

Thank you for your support my dear, Cathy Press Chair of the Babergh Domestic Violence Forum is finalising all documentation on paper and I'll forward to you by email.. ( goodness what's that lol )..

The web 2.0 interactive is yes, a way to leverage and create 'connection'; with people, hearts, minds, and technology to do this. What I imagine is the very people that need this sort of 'connection' and support sitting at home on a PC desperate to feel some care from the outside world, sitting in silence about their abuse.

I wanted to offer a way of showing those very people, just how much the world and Virtual world does care. Every message or on line thought, offered to the Survivors Stories on the Launch day ( or before or after by email ) is dedicated to those that have been filmed, those that visit the website needing support, and those that know a friend that does.

I have passion behind Cathy's and all that have suffered abuse and need a voice.

ooh got me going there Alex.. ( lil bit emotional ) let me run along to my blog and off load it there

Media camp Bucks are going to publicise this too. god bless em.

glad you're on board hunny x
